At April 3 the second conference (les Journees de Palaiseau) on Estimation Modelling was held at Thales Research & Technology in Palaiseau. Over 70 participants from different Thales units attended the conference. Edward Faber (T-Xchange) together with Froukje de Haan (Thales Huizen) presented the first findings of the pilot with the Wideband Delphi Game. The presentation stressed the importance of using top-down estimation techniques, in particular Wideband Delphi, in the fuzzy front end of innovation and when limited time is available to prepare bids. Game elements are used to stimulate estimators to consider more solutions scenarios (avoid tunnel vision), estimate on a higher level of detail, freely exchange knowledge and to make the technique more accessible for users.
